Na elk project vragen we onze partner hoe het project is gegaan en welke lessen de partner heeft geleerd. Je vindt hier het bijbehorende rapport.

1.    CONTEXT AND SUMMARY
1.1    The original plan of the project
The Bulu Bulu project, is directed towards the improvement of living conditions, by strengthening the economy of the families that are part of the Union Association of the Virgen de Fátima parish, Yaguachi canton, province of Guayas and are dedicated to the production of cocoa.
The process of implementing the proposal was developed as follows:
➢ Involvement of the volunteer group of World Servants to count on human and financial support.
➢ Involvement of the Guayas team of the Maquita Foundation
➢ Cooperation with the representatives and members of the UNION Association of the Virgen de Fátima parish
➢ Construction of the enclosure of the drying area
➢ Construction of a warehouse for the reception and storage of cocoa.
➢ Construction of four sheds for cocoa drying.
➢ Adaptation of the dining room and toilets of the storage center

1.2    Implementation of the project
1. Reception at the airport and transfer of the group to the facilities of MAQUITA Agro
2. Institutional presentation and tour of facilities of MAQUITA agro and processing plant of semi-processed cocoa
3. Transfer to the community
4. Welcome ceremony to the group with the participation of local authorities, producers, Maquita team.
5. Accommodation in the places established for the accommodation of the group.
6. Start of activities related to construction.
7. Realization of activities of integration with the community (visits to families, visits to the cocoa farms, demonstration of the process of artisanal chocolate making, fishing and swimming in the river of the place, preparation and tasting of typical food of the community )
8. Activities of connection with the community school (didactic and recreational activities with the students)
9. Visit to the community La Compuerta, observe the project carried out by the Word Servants group in 2017
10. Participation in recreational and cultural activities for the festivities of the sector (Montubio rodeo, food tasting, popular dance)
11. Visit to tourist places of the Naranjal canton (the seven waterfalls, parks of the city)
12. Perform worship in the Evangelical Church of La Puntilla and Naranjal
13. Program of closure and gratitude to the group, by the Association, with the participation of local authorities and communities
14. Visit to the city of Guayaquil
15. Return of the group to Holland.

2.    CONSTRUCTION
2.1    Buildings worked on
The works of construction of the aforementioned works were made under the operational coordination of the Engineer Bruno Saltos, technician of Maquita, the technical direction of the teacher Manuel Yagual, the participation of 28 volunteers World Servants 17 women and 11 men, 10 members of the UNION Association, who participated during 20 days in the work of:
➢ Construction of a warehouse for the reception and storage of cocoa.
➢ Construction of two tendales for the drying of cocoa.
➢ Adaptation of the dining room and toilets of the storage center of the UNION Association

3.    FACILITATION OF THE TEAM
3.1    Children Program
As for activities with the children of the community in agreement with the director of the School of the community "Dolores Veintimilla", recreational work was carried out, which allowed an approach to the reality of the area, as well as sharing the experiences and joy of the children.

3.2    Cultural and touristic outings
The group participated in cultural activities of the community. They joined the celebration of
neighborhood parties, where part of the culture was shared as Montubio rodeo, tasting
of meals and popular dance. Visits to the farms of cocoa producers were done to know the productive agricultural management and they also shared the artisanal elaboration of cocoa derivatives such as pasta and chocolate.

4.    COOPERATION AND INVOLVEMENT
4.1    Leadership team World Servants
Coordination from Maquita was assigned to Ing. Bruno Saltos, with 2 contracted translators he established a permanent communication process with the group. Coordination and the activities were carried out with the leaders Bé and Inge, who permanently showed their willingness to coordinate properly the activities foreseen in the initial proposal and the predisposition to make some change in the initial proposal when it was strictly necessary.
In general, the communication was fluid and allowed all the activities to be carried out in the established times, without presenting any news outside the planned.

5.    PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS
5.1    Accommodation
The accommodation of the group was made in the premises of the collection center suitable for the purpose

5.2    Food
Food was coordinated with community members for daily preparation, considering the products of the area and in coordination with the groups leaders from Word Servants..

5.3    Transportation
The transport was carried out in vehicles suitable for this type of trips and according to the schedules established with the coordination team of the Holland office of World Servants.

5.4    Safety
We counted on the local facilities when considering the security protocols, the community is close to the parishes: Taura that has a Sub Health Center; Virgen de Fátima 30 minutes from the city of Guayaquil where health clinics are located with their respective ambulance team for any emergency; likewise for greater security, it was coordinated with the parish's national police for night surveillance.

6.    LESSONS LEARNED
- The tangible practice of solidarity between peoples, considering the distance and origin of the young volunteers and the effort they make to participate in these projects.
- Ways of living together and sharing interculturality; the young Dutch people shared their culture with young people, boys and girls, mothers of families and producers of the territory, in different events that left lessons to both parties.
- Forms of organization and harmonious coexistence with groups of young people
