Elk jaar vragen we onze partner hoe het project is gegaan en welke lessen de partner heeft geleerd.

Context and summary

Describe the original plan/idea for the project. Has the project been executed as planned?
The original plan was to construct a school block, 1 toilet and GCR. The project was executed as per plan and a teachers house has also been constructed based on additional funds.

Give a (short) general description of the implementation of the project.

The implementation went on very well in all the programs ranging cultural, touristic, childrens work as well as on construction.

How do you look back on the following topics? How was it arranged, what went well, what could be done better?

Construction

Buildings worked on
The construction went on well. When the team was arriving the foundations had been set on the school block and teachers house but also the pit for the toilet had been dug. When the group arrived they started working on all the facilities  concurrently and work progressed well on all the structures. when the group was handing over the structures all of them had been roofed and plastering had also been partially done. The community and the participants worked tirelesly together to have the construction completed.

Tasks to be done

the remaining work to be done included plastering, pointing, painting, fixing glasses, drainage and fixing of doors.

Programs

The childrens work went on well as the teachers and participants worked together to help the learners with singing, stories from the bible, playing different games and dancing. the participants enjoyed the activities and the learners also enjoyed and had fun.

Lessons learned
The project was well executed to our best expectations. the small challenge was punctuality of the community members when coming to the projects but its a challenge we had no control. the trip leader and the technical leader were also of the view that there is need to start with beam filling of the structures before starting with roofing and its something which is possible based on the progress made but we also consider time factor because our technical team need to supervise the roofing as well.
