The community has worked hard on the finishing work on the buildings!

This was the last World Servants project in Malawi in 2019 and it took place in October this year. The project was a mixed group of adults and youth. After the group left, the community continued working hard to have the project completed and within one month tremendous progress has been made. The community has managed to complete all the bricklaying work and painting is currently underway. The community looks hungry for development and are also working hard to make sure the teacher house and the classrooms are completed in a good way. By completing the new classrooms it means that the learners will now stop learning in the dilapidated school which they were using. This will also mean that classroom learning environment will be conducive for the learners and the teachers as well. The teachers’ house will create space for more teachers to stay within the school campus and walk short distance to school. This is opposed to the current scenario where teachers walk long distance from Chatoloma trading centre to Katawa School which is approximately 4 km. The school has 9 teachers (3 female and 6 male) and 440 learners (boys = 231, gils =209).
