Building in use by school

Project update van 29 oktober 2018 door Ezekiel Rukema

Both parents and children benefit from the new building already...

Partner AEE of Help a Child Rwanda has worked hard to complete everything in time. The official opening of the building was on September 26, in the presence of district representatives, army, police, students and parents, and ever since the building is in good use. There are 52 children enrolled in the ECDC (Early Childhood Development Centre): 28 boys and 24 girls, with the teacher already teaching these children still there. The school lobbies for new teachers for 2 more classes, so the children are well prepared for primary school. This will be done in the coming 2 years, to grow towards a full ECDC.

In addition to the classes for children, the parents also receive lessons at the school on for example "positive parenting": they teach parents how to care about their kids from conception, playing, nourishing kids. So each aspect of educating kids from early age is talked about with the parents, and in addition to that, the parents are visited in their homes to see how practical are with the teachings acquired. This is part of the program of AEE and Help a Child Rwanda.
