More pupils already enrolled in school in Patifu!

Project update van 10 december 2019 door Edward Bailor

The news about the new classrooms has resulted already in a higher number of pupils for the school in Patifu, and when you look at the buildings you also understand why.

It is clear that the enrolment of the school has increased from 287 in the 2018/2019 to 297 in the 2019/2020 school years. 10 pupils have been attracted to the school from other schools as a result of the new school building although the new school is not yet in use. Speaking to the head teacher, she revealed that some of them are pupils who left Patifu to go and attend primary school in Faredugu, a two and a half mile distance. Others are pupils who came from other villages and passed Patifu also for Faredugu to attend school. Faredogu is a fairly big town where there are many primary schools. This enrollment is expected to increase once the school start using the new school building.
This week the contractor and his team are working on finishing the building. This is later than expected, but this was because the contractor was sick for some time. This has delayed the work for some time, but luckily the school will be finished before the next term starts. And when you look at the work done, we're really pleased to see a nicely finished building. The contractor has done a good job!
