Monday 17th July 2017

Start of another busy day. After breakfast we went straight to work. The wall of the second classroom was knocked out and the roof removed. Angled bricks were laid for the roof and an outer wall kept getting higher and higher.

An attempt was made to keep our sleeping area dust and dirt free. We took many breaks for drink and snacks and on we rolled.

After lunch the classroom was completely cleaned and ready for new walls to be put up.  A new doorway was cut into one building and the old filled with new bricks.

Again more sand sieved for “speci”.

At one o’çlock the children were finished with school and stood waiting eagerly at the gate. Then came the deluge of rain and roaring thunder putting a halt to everything. Once it eased off Gerjanne, Hanneke, Anne-Marie and Abbey headed off down the road, translator in tow, to start the childrens work for the day.  THey were eager to see us. We began with a brief introduction and prayer. Then we tried our best to sing-a-long “Read your Bible Pray every day” in Spanish. Then the story of the Sower and the Seed from the Kijk en Luister Bijbel was read to the children followed by a colouring picture which they all enjoyed.  We then played several games with the children which was enjoyed by all. To close we sang the same song in English for them and prayed.

Meanwhile one wall was completed and another bathroom door installed.

Dinner tonight?? You guessed it….Different cut of Chicken WITH Rice and Salad.

Bible study tonight was about Loss. Then we went to bed.
