Update on borehole

Project update van 15 september 2020 door Mussa Nyirenda

Joyful moment as the community receives a borehole

The community was all smiles to see that after a long time of struggling to have portable water at the school they finally have water within the school premises. All along the school depended on water from shallow wells which was unsafe and sometimes they could walk long distances to fetch water in the boreholes which belonged to the villages. This made it difficult for the learners and the teachers to have access to safe drinking water. This time however the story is different because finally the school has got its own water within the compound and the community is very thankful to the people of the Netherlands through World Servants who fundraised enough money for the mechanical borehole drilling. The borehole is a great relief to this community more especially at this time of covid-19 when everyone is encouraged to wash hands frequently with soap. The community is expected to come up with a borehole committee which will oversee the operation of the borehole. Apart from the borehole the community is also forever thankful to World servants for the school blocks, teachers houses and toilets which were constructed in their community.
