Nilphamari and Jaldhaka finished and in use!

Community Based Rehabilitation Partner (CBRP), TLMI Bangladesh has been working in Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Nilphamari and Rangpur districts to rehabilitate the people with leprosy disability and disability other than leprosy. The objective of the project is People in North West Bangladesh with disabilities (including people with leprosy) have access to their rights and full participation in social and economic life, and are represented by sustainable, independent, functioning organization. The project has helped to form 745 Self-Help Groups, 24 sub-district level associations and 4 district associations. The 745 SHGs are running by the leadership of sub-district association respectively. 24 associations have their own offices made of CI sheet or rented house. All of them have required building of each for their office and identity. So project have communicate to the World Servant Project through TLMIB, WS visited eligible areas and decided to build building at Nilphamari Sadar and Jaldhaka sub-district associations in 2019. The buildings have been constructed from June 2019 to December 2019.

After having these buildings the Nilphamari and Jaldhaka associations have been serving SHGs more effectively, have their meetings & training, keep their records and belongings in secured place. Overall it is helping SHG and association for sustainable development. Livelihoods of the members of the Association and underlying self-help groups and their relatives have been improved. After completing construction several meetings and training take places in those buildings (11 in Nilphamari with in total 547 participants, 9 in Jaldhaka with in total 313 participants). These are the formal use of meeting and training into these building. The buildings have been used at least once weekly by the working committee members for deferent activities, communication, recording, reporting and planning.
