A setback for Kantheska Primary School, heavy winds have blown off the roof the temporary school block. Let's hope new classrooms can be constructed in October this year.

On 28th January we visited Kantheska for new identification and preparation for 2021 project. The school is well prepared for the coming of another group and they are really enthusiastic. The school has however been hit hard by heavy winds which has blown off the roof of the temporary school block which was constructed by the community themselves. This is a big setback to the community as the school is already having a challenge in accommodating learners with the increase in the cases of covid-19 infection in the country. the government has put some covid prevention measures which among others requires social distance in classes apart from washing hands with soap regularly and wearing of masks. Social distance means that learners have to sit far apart hence the need for more space. The community will need approximately 1500 euros to renovate the school block. We give thanks and honour to God that the school was blown off when learners were on three weeks holiday due to covid 19 otherwise if learners were in class the situation would have been worse.
